JEE Advanced 2021: JEE Advanced 2021 will be conducted on May 17, 2021, in India and abroad. IIT Delhi will be conducting JEE Advanced 2021 under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board. The number of eligible students for the exam has been increased by 10,000. Now 2.5 Lacs candidates will be eligible for JEE Advanced instead of 2.4 Lacs.

JEE Advanced Syllabus 2021

 General: Dimensions and Units, dimensional analysis; least count, significant figures, the focal length of a concave mirror and a convex lens using the u-v method, Speed of sound using resonance column, Experiments based on using Vernier screw gauge(micrometer) and calipers, Determination of g using simple pendulum, Error analysis for physical quantities pertaining to the following experiments and Methods of Measurement, and specific resistance of the material of a wire using meter bridge and post office box.Young’s modulus by Searle’s method, Specific heat of a liquid using calorimeter ammeter and Verification of Ohm’s law using a voltmeter.

 Mechanics: Two dimensions and kinematics(Cartesian coordinates only), projectiles, Relative velocity, Uniform circular motion, Newton’s laws of motion, Uniformly accelerated frames of reference and internal, Dynamic and static friction, potential energy and kinetic, power and work, mechanical energy and Conservation of linear momentum, Systems of particles, motion, and center of mass, Elastic and inelastic, impulse, collisions. 

Law of gravitation: Field and Gravitational potential, Acceleration due to gravity, satellites in circular orbits and Motion of plants, Escape velocity, the moment of inertia, Rigid body, parallel and perpendicular axes, moment of inertia of uniform bodies with simple geometrical shapes, Torque, Angular momentum, conservation of angular momentum, Dynamics of rigid bodies with fixed bodies, cylinders, and spheres, Rolling without slipping of rings, Equilibrium of rigid bodies, the collision of point masses with rigid bodies.Angular simple harmonic motions and Linear, young’s modulus, Hooke’s law.

Pressure in a fluid, Buoyancy, pascal’s Law, surface tension and surface energy, capillary rise, Viscosity (poiseuille’s equation excluded), stoke’s law, Streamline flow, Terminal velocity, Bernoulli’s theorem and its applications, equation of continuity, Wave motion(plane waves only)surface energy and surface tension, Transverse waves and longitudinal, superposition of waves, stationary waves and progressive, the vibration of strings and air columns, speed of sound in gases, Beats, Doppler effects(in sound).

Thermal physics: latent heat, Calorimetry, Heat conduction in one dimension, Radiation and Elementary concepts of convection, First law of thermodynamics and its applications(only for ideal gases), Thermal expansion of solids, liquids a gases, Newton’s law of cooling, ideal gas laws, specific heats(Cp and Cv for monatomic and diatomic gases), Adiabatic processes and Isothermal, the bulk modulus of gases; Equivalence of work and heat, Emissive powers and absorptive, Blackbody radiation, Kirchhoff’s law, Stefan’s law, wien’s displacement law.

Magnetism and Electricity: Coulomb’s law, potential and Electric field, Electric field lines, Electrical potential energy of a system of point charges and of electrical dipoles in a uniform electrostatic field, uniformly charged infinite plane sheet and uniformly charged thin spherical shell, Electric field lines, Gauss’s law and its application in simple cases, such as, to find due to infinitely long straight wire.

Capacitance: Capacitors in parallel and series, parallel plate capacitor with and without dielectrics, Energy stored in a capacitor.

Electric current, the heating effect of current, parallel and series arrangements of resistances and cells, Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws, and simple applications.

Ampere’s law and Biot -Savart’s law, Magnetic field near a current-carrying straight wire, along the axis of a circular coil and inside a long straight solenoid, Force on a moving charge and a current-carrying wire in a uniform magnetic field.

Magnetic moment of current loop: Moving coil galvanometer, Effect of a uniform magnetic field on a current loop, Ammeter, and their conversions, Moving coil galvanometer, voltmeter.

Electromagnetic induction: Lenz’s, LR, and LC circuits with A.C and A.C sources, Faraday’s law, mutual and self-inductance.

Optics: Spherical surfaces and Reflection and refraction at a plane, Rectilinear propagation of light, Deviation and dispersion of light by a prism, Total internal reflection, thin lenses and combinations of mirrors, thin lenses, Magnification.spherical surfaces and Reflection and refraction at the plane.

Wave nature of light: Interference limited to Young’s double-slit experiment, Huygen’s principle.

Modern Physics:

Atomic nucleus:α, β and γ radiation, Decay constant law of radioactive decay, Half-life and mean life, Fusion and fission processes, Binding energy and its calculation, Energy calculation in these processes. 

Photoelectric effect, Characteristic and continuous X-rays, Bohr’s theory of hydrogen-like atoms, de Broglie wavelength of matter waves, Moseley’s law.

JEE Advanced 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to write  JEE Advanced 2021, you must be in the top 224,000 students in JEE Main 2021. That means to be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2021, firstly, you need to Appear in paper-I of JEE Main 2021 which will be held by NTA in January and April 2021. Eligible Candidates will be able to apply for the JEE Advanced 2021 as per the following schedule below:

The eligibility criteria  for JEE Advanced 2021 exam will be given below:

  • Appearance in class 12th: The candidate should appear for the class 12th exam in the year 2019 or 2021.
  • Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE exam maximum of two lines in the consecutive years.
  • Performance in JEE Main: The candidate must be in the top 2,24,000 candidates in JEE Main exam.
  • Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE exam a maximum of two lines in the consecutive years.
  • Age Limit: The candidate should be born on 1st October 1995.

Note:5 Year relaxation will be given to the candidates from ST, SC, and PwD categories.

JEE Advanced 2021 Application Form

The candidates have to enter all the required details in the application form very carefully. After entering the details, the candidates have to upload the scanned copies of the following documents:

  • 10th certificate(Date of Birth verification)
  • Birth certificate(if it is not mentioned in 10th certificate)
  • 12th or equivalent examination certificate.
  • Category Certificate(if ST/SC/OBC-NCL)
  • PWD certificate(if necessary)
  • OCI/PIO certificate (if applicable),etc.

JEE Advanced Application Fee 2021: JEE  Advanced 2021 Application form fee can be paid through online or offline mode.

  • For offline mode, it can be paid through E-Challan of State Bank of India(SBI)Bank in Multi Option payment system(MOPS)page.
  • For online mode, it will be paid, credit card, debit card or net banking. The registration fee for JEE Advanced 2021 exam is given below:
