The Full form of IIFT

The Full Form of IIFT is the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade which is a fully autonomous, government-funded business school in New Delhi. It was first established back in 1963 by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to help various professionals get better at capitalizing the process of foreign trade while also understanding the way the world economy affects our own. This helped to massively increase the efficiency in the foreign trade department and allowed the professionals to increase the speed of training for human resources in the trading sector while generating and analyzing huge amounts of data for economic research.

IIFT was given the status of Deemed University certified by the UGC in the year 2002 and has ever since undertaken research with various financial organizations in the world such as the World Trade Center, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the World Bank. This has also allowed them to train over 40,000 business professionals in various financial fields and help improve economic research. The admissions for the institute are conducted via autonomous entrance exams across India in which students compete for its two campuses – one in Delhi, and one in Kolkata.

The selection process for their MBA courses is conducted via a computer-based exam which is then computed into a shortlist of the top students who are then invited for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The cumulative scoring of this allows the students to get offer letters, and also the campus.
