The Full form of HIV
HIV Full Form – The full form of HIV is the Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a micro-organism that leads to the development of Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome gradually overtime in an infected individual. HIV suppresses the immune system of the body, thereby preventing the creation of antibodies against micro-organisms that cause the disease.
HIV infection is transmitted sexually, an STI. It might also spread from the mother to fetus during pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding. Once infected, it may take a few years for the immune system to be suppressed to the point of developing AIDS. The infection has no specified cure or treatment technique; however, with the rigorous intake of the prescribed medicines, the advancement of the disease may reduce to a great extent.
There are various phases of the infection. Likewise, the symptoms vary as well, such as-
Acute HIV– The primary state of the infection shows a fever, headache, rash, sore throat, swollen lymph glands, and muscle joint pain. The symptoms stay possibly unnoticeable but the virus load in the blood is abundant, resulting in the easy spread of the infection.
Chronic HIV– Some individuals might have the prevailing swollen lymph glands but most often there are no signs of the disease in this stage other than HIV infecting the white blood cells.
As the virus progresses and destroys the immune system, the buildup of infections and chronic symptoms show up as fever, diarrhea, swollen lymph nodes, shingles, and thrushes. If not detected and treated, the infection will eventually lead to its advanced form, which is AIDS.
