The Full Form of CBSE
The Full Form of CBSE is the Central Board of Secondary Education, and it is an educational board that functions at the national level for both public and private schools in India. It is managed by the Union Government of India and functions under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. All schools affiliated with CBSE follow the NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) curriculum and are estimated to be around 20,547 in total number across the globe. The CBSE Board was first set up in 1952 in the cities of Ajmer and Bhopal.
The Board is known to conduct annual final examinations for classes 10th and 12th each year in March. These are known as Board Examinations, and hold the highest value of all school level examinations. Passing the Class 12th Board Exam awards the student with a result that allows them for college admissions and is held at equal value to a high school diploma. The Board is also in charge of other examinations such as the CTET which is the Central Teacher Eligibility Test and is conducted to allow a teacher to be qualified to teach in CBSE affiliated schools. Apart from this, the board also conducts the National Eligibility Test to award grants and junior fellowships in higher learning institutions, and the medical entrance exam NEET. This has allowed CBSE to become the largest examination body in the world.
The debate between ISC Board Schools and CBSE Board Schools is one that never stops, however, CBSE students do fair better in the above-mentioned entrance exams since their curriculum is more inclined towards entrance exam preparation than that of the ISC board.
