NATA 2021 : The council of Architecture will conduct the National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2021 (NATA 2021) in order to screen the applicants for admission to 1st year of 5-year B.Arch degree course. This is the most prestigious architecture entrance exam in India. The NATA 2021 scores will be considered for admission in some of the top architecture colleges in India. Applicants can start applying for NATA 2021 from 1st February 2021 onwards.

It is a national level entrance exam and the competition is expected to be really high. In this post, we will discuss complete details about NATA 2021 exam such as exam pattern, syllabus, eligibility criteria, application form etc.

NATA Eligibility Criteria 2021 :

The applicants from following background will be eligible to appear for NATA 2021 exam.

  • The applicants having passed 10+2 or equivalent exam will be eligible to appear for NATA 2021
  • Applicants having a 10+3 diploma in any stream can also apply.
  • The applicants having an international Baccalaureate diploma after 10 years of schooling can also apply.
  • The applicants who will appear for the qualifying exam in the year 2021 can also apply

NATA Registration 2021 :

The application form for NATA 2021 exam will be filled and submitted online through the official NATA portal. We will also post a direct link to fill online NATA 2021 application form on this page. The applicants have to provide all the mandatory educational, personal and contact details in the application form. After entering the details, the applicants have to upload the scanned images of recent passport size photograph in colour, own signature and community certificate issued by a competent authority in the case of SC/ST applicants.

Applicants should take a printout of confirmation page after submitting the application form for future reference. However, there is no requirement to send the copy of confirmation page to the council’s office.

Application Fee :

The application fees of NATA 2021 exam are as follows :

  • For General and OBC : Rs.2000(for one attempt) & Rs.3800(for two attempt)
  • For SC and ST applicants : Rs.1700(for one attempt) & Rs.3100(for two attempt)
  • For abroad centre : Rs.10000(for one attempt) & Rs.18000(for two attempt)

The application fee will be paid via online mode by using a credit card, debit card or net banking.

NATA 2021 Exam Pattern :

The Question paper of NATA 2021 will be divided into two parts i.e. Part A and Part B. Part A will be consisting of objective types of questions while Part B will have 2 drawing questions. The details about NATA 2021 exam are as follow :

  • Mode of exam : Online for part A while part B will be answered on an A4 drawing sheet
  • Type of Questions : Objective Type MCQ (Part A) and sketch making (Part B)
  • Number of Questions : Part A – 3 questions and Part B –50 questions
  • Medium of Exam : English only
  • Marking scheme : The exam will not include negative marking rule.

Syllabus :

The syllabus for NATA 2021 is given below :

Mathematics : Algebra, Logarithms, Matrices, Trigonometry, Coordinate geometry, 3-Dimensional Co-ordinate geometry, Theory of Calculus, Application of Calculus, Permutation and combination, Statistics and Probability etc.

General Aptitude : Objects, Interpretation of pictorial compositions, texture related to architecture and built environment, Analytical reasoning, General awareness of national/ international architects, mental ability (visual, numerical and verbal), Mathematical reasoning, famous architectural creations etc.

Drawing Test : Understanding of scale and proportion of objects, Drawing of patterns – both geometrical and abstract, geometric composition, building forms and elements, Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms, Perspective drawing, Sketching of urbanscape and landscape,, Common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc., from memory etc.

How to prepare for NATA 2021?

There will be an immense competition in NATA 2021 exam and the applicant need to prepare really well in order to obtain good score in this exam.

Here are some tips that you should follow to perform well in the NATA exam :

  • Practice is the key to success : Be it mathematics, drawing or general aptitude all the sections of NATA requires ample amount of practice to achieve perfection. Always keep timing in your mind while practicing the questions.
  • Mock tests : Mock test will help you simulate the exam. Try to score good marks in mock test this will automatically make you prepare better for the main exam.
  • Sketch in a proper way : Practice sketching as per the exam pattern. You should be proficient in drawing compositions, fore shortening, perspective drawing, graphic design etc.
  • Follow high quality books : Always follow the recommended study material from high quality writers.

NATA 2021 Admit Card :

The admit card will be downloaded from the official portal. It will be mandatory for every applicant to carry a hard copy of downloaded admit card at the concerned exam center. Along with the admit card the applicant have to carry any one of following id proof in original – Voter ID/ Pan Card/ Aadhar Card/ Driving Licence/ e- Aadhar. The applicants should keep the NATA 2021 admit card safe till admission process gets completed.

NATA 2021 Result :

The response sheet of each applicant (only part A) along with subject wise marks will be uploaded within a week of commencement of exam. There will be no provision for re-checking or scrutiny. The NATA 2021 result will consist of marks of the applicants along with the status i.e. pass or fail. The applicant needs to score more than qualifying marks in Part and Part B separately to be successful in the NATA exam.

NATA 2021 Counselling :

The council of Architecture will not organize any common counselling for B.Arch admission. The colleges and universities offering admission on the basis of NATA score will conduct their own counselling separately. The counseling procedure and schedule will be different for all the universities. That’s why it is advised that the applicants should keep their NATA 2021 admit card and score card safe till the B.Arch admission process gets completed.
