ABEDA Full Form – The full form of ABEDA is the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa  (which is also referred to as BADEA or “Banque Arabe pour le Developpement Economique en Afrique”) is a financial institution co-owned by 18 different Arab countries. ABEDA was set up after the economic resolutions at the Arab Summit Conference in November 1973. It later started operations in 1975 based on its Establishing Agreement signed by the League of Arab States in 1974. The bank has been an independently functioning international institution ever since and has also enjoyed a fully functional international legal status as well as an autonomous administration along with freedom over its financial matters.

The primary objective of the bank is to help strengthen the economic and financial situations of cooperation in African and Arab nations. While the philosophy behind the bank is sound, it has done more than just making promises. Over the past 5 years, it has helped in expanding its operations to nations in the Sub-Saharan parts of Africa. In doing so, it has helped them gain access to various facilities such as food, healthcare, transport and even to the proper utilization of human resources. The past 5 years had allocations at 1,600 million dollars which is a staggering mark for such a short amount of time.

It has also started lending operations to establish a system of credit in these regions to allow greater economic growth in its affiliated nations. The loan to various finance nations and the government as well for the development of their nation.
